Seasonal Picker/Packer Dalton

Position Summary & Purpose:       

The Picker/Packer will be responsible for picking, preparing and packaging customer merchandise for shipment.  The Picker/Packer will ensure that items are picked from the Direct Sales Inventory according to the customer purchase; prepared according to industry, Lehman’s and shipping standards in order to ensure safety of product; and that purchased items are packaged and shipped appropriately by the most cost effective and quickest means possible according to customer request.  The Picker/Packer will assist the Lehman’s Direct Sales team members in creating a memorable shopping experience by following through to the end of the order process to ensure the customer the customer has received exceptional customer service (from beginning to end) and creating an outstanding first impression. 

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Prepare pick ticket for each pick cart
  • Pick merchandise from inventory shelves and compare with pick ticket to verify accuracy
  • Visually inspect merchandise for defects


  • Print orders and place orders in pick carts (also known as pick ticket)
  • Visually inspect merchandise for defects
  • Hand pack merchandise and stuffing/stabilizing materials into shipping boxes
  • Use computer software system to record shipment data (shipping address, weight, shipping charges, etc.)
  • End of line duties which can include but are not limited to packaging
    • Requisition and stock shipping materials and supplies
    • Facilities maintenance duties as needed such as sweeping and dusting
    • Organizing work area for orderliness at all times in order to comply with safety guidelines   
  • Keep a count of all items listed as “finished goods” in the inventory tracking system
  • Gather either Lehman’s or Crownplace/Aladdin product(s) and assemble them properly according to paperwork (order) supplied                                                                    
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Minimum of an Eighth (8th) Grade education


  • Minimum experience required for this position is 0-6 months

Travel – no extensive job related travel required for this position

  • Motor Skills -  the ability to use fine and gross motor skills to complete  projects and assisting visitors in the store (example: using fingers to pick up string or using hands, legs and back to lift a package from the floor)

  • Safety – the ability to observe gauges, dials, or other indicators, whether analog or digital, to make sure appliance is working properly

  • Language –
    • English – must be able to communicate fluently and understand the English language utilizing any and all forms of communication (written, verbal, visual, etc.)
    • Dutch (Pennsylvania Dutch) – not a necessary job requirement, but helpful in dealing with Amish visitors/customers
  • Active Listening – the ability to give full attention to what other individuals are saying, taking time to understand the point(s) being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Reading/Writing – the ability to look at, use, and  understand the meaning of letters, words and/or symbols as they pertain to Lehman’s computing systems
  • Comprehension – the ability to grasp the nature, significance and/or meaning of written, spoken or visual cues as they pertain to Lehman’s computing systems and interactions with Lehman’s employees and vendors

  • Must be willing and able to work assigned shift/schedule/provisory period as defined by supervision based on staffing needs
  • Must be able to provide reliable transportation for self to and from assigned worksite(s). Transportation can include but is not limited to self-transport, car-pooling, hired drivers, horse & buggy, bicycle, etc.  Neither Lehman’s nor Lehman’s supervision is responsible for securing or providing reliable transportation for this position.
