Position Summary & Purpose: 
The Visitor Support Specialist/Stocker will be the primary visitor contact for the Lehman’s store in Kidron, Ohio.  The Visitor Support Specialist/Stocker will assist customers in locating desired merchandise and will direct customers to store activities of interest.  Visitor Support Specialist/Stocker will also receive stocking assignments from the VSS/Stocker Senior Team Leader and will stock shelves, cases, bins and tables with merchandise in order to attract customers and increase sales. Visitor Support Specialist/Stocker will also receive merchandise, appropriately count/process inventory and distribute inventory to the appropriate area of the Kidron store.  The Visitor Support Specialist/Stocker will assist Kidron team members to create a memorable visitor experience by engaging the visitor in a positive and helpful manner, offering accurate and relevant information in a manner focused on providing exceptional customer service and creating an outstanding first impression. 
Duties & Responsibilities:
Visitor Support
  • Walk through the store with the purpose of engaging customers to assist with questions, directions and to provide excellent customer service
  • Cross-train in all departments of the store in order to be able to efficiently and effectively assist visitors
  • Will be assigned primary areas of responsibility and coverage, but may be needed to “cover” other areas of the store when staff shortages occur
  • Will handle the “over-flow” of primary area(s) of responsibility
  • Provide directions to customers to desired products and/or local area attractions
  • Provide coverage for all departments and the customer service desk when needed in order to provide excellent customer service
  • Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins and tables with new and/or transferred merchandise
  • Receive, open, unpack and issue sales floor merchandise
  • Process transfer documents to pick/prepare items for transfer to other Lehman’s locations
  • Clean display cases, shelves and aisles
  • Manage product in back stock area to ensure that it is well managed and safe.
  • Cycle out back stock onto sales floor weekly
  • Communicate inventory observations to VSS/Stock Senior Team Leader and Department Managers
  • Assist with keeping the store presentable, clean and organized for consumers
  • Create, attach and/or change pricing labels on merchandise according to pricing list
  • Answer telephone calls requesting product availability and assist with retail floor coverage as needed
  • Cycle Count merchandise
Other duties as assigned
  • Minimum of an Eighth (8th) Grade education
  • Minimum experience required for this position is 0 to 6 months in a customer service, retail and or customer centered environment
  • Familiarity with Lehman’s line of non-electric merchandise a plus but not required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to access all areas of the Kidron store sales floor
  • Ability to move up to 25 pounds on a routine basis and occasionally move heavier or bulkier items either alone or as part of a team

    • Dutch (Pennsylvania Dutch) – not a necessary job requirement, but helpful in dealing with Amish visitors/customers

  • Must be willing and able to work assigned shift/schedule/provisory period as defined by supervision based on staffing needs
  • Must be able to provide reliable transportation for self to and from assigned worksite(s). Transportation can include but is not limited to self-transport, car-pooling, hired drivers, horse & buggy, bicycle, etc.  Neither Lehman’s nor Lehman’s supervision is responsible for securing or providing reliable transportation for this position.Dependability - must be willing and able to maintain proper attendance and punctuality standards; must be reliable, responsible and fulfill all employment obligations
