Position Summary & Purpose:
The Custodian - Kidron will be responsible for helping to maintain the Kidron store’s clean and orderly condition. The Custodian - Kidron will be responsible for dusting and cleaning merchandise, furniture and fixtures; perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass/windows and removing rubbish. The Custodian - Kidron will assist the Kidron team members in creating a memorable visitor experience by engaging the customer in a positive and helpful manner in and outside of the store, offering accurate and relevant information in a manner focused on providing exceptional customer service and creating an outstanding first impression.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cleaning – ability to operate proper cleaning equipment and/or machinery and cleaning chemicals that would allow an industry and Lehman’s acceptable cleansing of the facility. Equipment, machinery and/or chemicals can include but are not limited to:
- Brush/Duster
- Mop
- Broom
- Vacuum
- Bleach
- Glass Cleaner
- Furniture Polish
- Air Freshener
- Floors (all of first and second floor, both public and private areas)
- Restrooms – both public and private restrooms, includes but is not limited to:
- Toilets
- Mirrors
- Sinks/Faucets
- Floors
- Dividers
- Hand Dryers (Electric and Paper)
- Restocking toilet tissue and paper hand dryers
- Removing trash and replacing trash receptacle liners
- Glass – which can include but is not limited to:
- Windows
- Glass partitions
- Mirrors
- Trash/Rubbish – gather and remove trash/rubbish from public and private areas
- Clean/sanitize spills
- Deep clean entire store, sections at a time to ensure customers experience a clean and sanitary visit
- Assist with departmental cleaning as necessary for special events, activities, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education
- Minimum of an Eighth (8th) Grade education
Experience
- Minimum experience required for this position is 0-6 months professional cleaning or commensurate experience preferred
Language
- English – must be able to communicate fluently and understand the English language utilizing any and all forms of communication (written, verbal, visual, etc.)
- Dutch (Pennsylvania Dutch) – not a necessary job requirement, but helpful in interacting with Amish visitors/customers
